Wacky Weather

Here's some data about our snowfall amounts up here in Orono, Maine from last month, December of 2007:
--42 inches of snow in our area
--that's 13x more snow than they had here the previous December, 2006 (3.6 inches)
--it was the most snow in a December since 1952
--it snowed 17 of the 31 days in December

Crazy, eh?

But wait, there's more.

Today, Tuesday, January 8, 2008 saw a new temperature record set up here. It got up to 55 degrees Farenheit (that's 12.8 degrees Celsius for my visitors from outside of the US) breaking the 61-year old record of 50 degrees Farenheit (10 Celsius) set back in 1946.

Here's how I see it: we're just clearing space for more snow because I gotta believe there'll be more coming our way before winter is over.

And I'm just fine with that. Because as you know: when life gives you snow, go sliding!
