Wednesday’s Word
Word: By the Old Lord Harry! (Exclamation)
Usage:
“What about the man who bought that boar, Stanley?”
“Well, he was from away, moved up here to get out of all that city business, and bought him a pig. Thing is, he thought he’d bought a barrow, but it wan’t cut.”
“So what happened?”
“Well, when he went to try to cook the thing, it stunk to high heaven.”
“No.”
“Did, peeled the shingles right off the shed when they opened the kitchen door. By the Old Lord Harry, I got an awful whiff, and I live a mile down the road!”
