Did you know that Maine’s own Gifford’s Ice Cream took first place for it’s chocolate ice cream? This happened last month in Madison, Wisconsin at the World Dairy Expo 2009. Not only did it take first place, it was the only ice cream in the entire competition to get a perfect score.
Gifford’s Ice Cream uses fresh, unpasteurized milk from local Maine dairy farmers to make its product. This is the second time they have received a “World’s Best” ranking from the Expo, having done so previously in 2007.
Maine is known for lobster, Stephen King, maple syrup, Olympia Snowe, and now Gifford's Chocolate Ice Cream. It is the finest kind of pork. Get yours if you can. It's wicked good.

Not only did I not know that but I wasn't even aware that there was a World Dairy Expo.
