Wednesday’s Word
Word: O
Pronunciation Note:
It is impossible to render in print the proper downeast pronunciation of a number of words containing the long "o" sound, such as stone, load, boat, coat, bone. Attempts at phonetical spellings or the use of diacritical marks cannot help here; you'll just have to listen and practice by yourself. You'll be trying to get "stone" somewhere between "stoon" with a short "oo" and "stoo-un". It's hahd.

Hmm, might the pronounciation be something like "Stuh-o-n"? You're right, I can hear it in my head but how the hell do you write it!
I am most patiently (read ANXIOUSLY!) awaiting your next LOST update, btw. ;)
