Word: Band (V.)
Definition: to ban, prohibit. Also, “slap a band”

Usage:
“I hear if we don’t get rain soon, they’re going to band the woods.” Translation: Open fires will be banned.

Past tense ‘banded’. “They’ve banded fires up above the C.P. Line.”
